ECPAC - El Cajon City Council threatens to close the East County Performing Arts Center (ECPAC) theater December 24th for 18 to 24 months for some kind of renovation, the substance of which is not quite clear. Apparently, there is some threat of lawsuit by CCT (Christian Community Theater) and Art Beat Management, headed by Paul Russell.
Election Integrity - Cops is actively working on a report exposing irregularities at the San Diego County RegistrarOfVoters. See San Diego County Canvass Procedures for full details. We've discovered 9,000 "missing" ballots and proof that they are severely mismanaged. Complete report to be released soon.
Grossmont Healthcare Board - Sent $100,000 "grant" to the Boy's and Girl's club for the Little Rascal's Room, a questionable expentiture since it has almost no relevance to healthcare. Grant exceeded guidelines and was from general fund instead of grants fund, an irregularity. This, while family care facilities were denied funds for prenatal care givers.

Mission
The mission of the East County Democratic Club is to create an environment that
fosters Democratic ideals, where Democrats in the East County area can network,
stimulate activist interests, become informed about issues, support the Democratic
Party Platform, and contribute by taking an active role in shaping the politics
of our city, county, state, and country.
San Diego's East County Democratic Club provides opportunities for active political
participation for members of the California Democratic Party. We welcome Democrats
who want change and are willing to do something to get it now. Come to a meeting;
participate in fundraising for local candidates. Recruit the best Democrats to run.
The East County Democratic Club has been meeting in the East County since 1965.
Club Objectives:
To identify Democrats in San Diego's East County and to assist in developing a
positive image of the Democratic Party; to identify viable candidates and assist
them in assuming positions of leadership; and to develop an active and productive
group of workers, leaders and candidates of the Democratic Party.
Network with Other Democrats
With today's corporate media, you might wonder if there are any other Democrats in the area.
Well, despite impressions, you’re not alone.
There are over 100,000 registered Democrats in the East County Area.
We believe:
our leaders must be held accountable for their actions.
the country should not go into debt to give tax breaks to the wealthy.
everyone should have affordable healthcare.
education is the key to our future and must be funded.
a woman has a right to choose.
Americans should not be subjected to warrantless spying.
disaster relief is more than a fly-over.
our environment must be protected for future generations.
in the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law, not men.
Attend a club meeting and make some new friends!
We welcome Cuyamaca and Grossmont College Students who are registered Democrats to
join the East County Democratic Club. Don't be fooled. The Democratic Party addresses the
concerns of Students far better than our opponents.

If you are tired of shouting at the TV and want to help take action, the East
County Democratic Club can help. We recognize that people feel comfortable
participating at different levels so we provide a wide range of activities,
including:
outreach efforts
registering voters
writing letters
formulating political strategy
Nothing will change if we remain silent.
Activism for the sake of getting the party's messages out to the community can be very energizing. Democrats learn to get their information from alternative
news sources and then check it very carefully for "spin," "bias," and "basic truth".
FACT: Locally, nearly every print or broadcast news source,
from the advertising weeklies to the "dailies," from radio to TV, is owned and
hands-on operated by a Republican or group of Republicans, and are all subject to the
will of conservative stock-holders.
Meetings
The East County Democratic Club is dedicated to helping its members stay current
with the political situation. Club meetings feature presentations by Democratic
elected officials and activists and also interactive member discussions on current
issues.
