My opponent, Joel Anderson, was the coalition chair to re-elect 
President Bush in 2004. He wanted to privatize Santee Lakes and turn it 
into a big KOA campground (Santee Lakes is a net $ _producer_ for the 
Padre Dam Municipal Water District). Anderson spent $17 of taxpayer 
money to get media attention over a worthless "divestiture" of monies 
from "evil" Iran, and I'm sure you've seen the worthless mailers he puts 
out, talking about how the legislature is wasting money. I'm sure each 
one of those mailers probably costs $100K+ to print and mail. He said 
recently that he wants to shutter 117 boards and commissions at the 
state level, obviously to allow corporations to run wild. It would be 
really nice to get rid of this unethical character from our state 
government!
